Andover Scottish Dancing Club

Andover, Hampshire

The group continues to flourish in 2008 - with attendances in recent months providing sufficient numbers for at least two sets. We also continue to enjoy the services of a number of highly competent teachers, which adds to our repertoire, and makes the dancing even more vibrant.

So, come and join us – it really is a most enjoyable and painless way of burning off the calories and stimulating the mind, as well as making new friends!!

Who are we?

More than twenty years ago, there was a Scottish Country Dancing evening class run by the local authority and based in the John Hanson School. However, this would only run if numbers remained at fourteen. Several of those attending then were Methodists so, in 1983, we set up a Club at the Methodist Church in Bridge Street, Andover. The Club has always been inter-denominational and also continues to include those with no church associations. At present, there are 30-35 on the books, with two to three sets each week. We are a friendly Club with a wide range of dancing ability that welcomes new members

When do we meet?

Every Monday: 7.30 pm – 9.30 pm.
Last session before the summer break - 14th July. Dancing starts, again, on 1st September 2008
